Treaty of Pontoise (1413)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Treaty of Pontoise of July 28, 1413 was a compromise between Johann Ohnefurcht , Duke of Burgundy , and Duke Johann von Berry in the course of the Cabochian uprising that had raged in Paris since the end of April .

In light of the Cabochian violence, the agreement was designed to restore peace to the city. However, in view of the reaction of the citizens of the city, especially the Armagnacs at the beginning of August and Johann's flight from the city, the contract was almost immediately invalid.
