Liaison officer

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A trust teacher is a teacher who is supposed to be a special trust person for students. He is the contact person for treatment that is perceived as unfair and for problems both inside and outside the school.

In many federal states he can refuse to provide information to the school management and his superiors in order not to endanger his trusting relationship with the students.

choice

Liaison teachers are usually elected for one year by the student conference . Depending on the federal state and the resolution of the conference, either a simple majority , an absolute majority or, in some cases, a 2/3 majority is required.

The choice of a liaison teacher is regulated by the respective state school law. The general rule is that an election can take place as soon as it is desired. Liaison teachers usually receive a small reduction in mandatory hours for their work.

Rights and obligations

The tutor may refuse to provide information to superiors if the information has been entrusted to him in his work. Furthermore, he has a duty of confidentiality .

One of his tasks is to listen to the problems of the students and to provide them with remedial action. He also mediates between the individual bodies and gives advice on who to turn to in certain cases.

Brandenburg

In Brandenburg the liaison teachers are elected for one year by the student conference with a simple majority. According to the law, they should take part in meetings of the Conference of Schoolchildren in an advisory capacity.

Liaison teachers "[...] are entitled to refuse to provide their superiors with information about matters that have been entrusted to them in this function, unless criminal offenses are involved." Re-election is not excluded. Up to three liaison teachers may be elected; the election requires acceptance by the corresponding teacher.
