Vesa Mäkipää

Vesa Mäkipää (born January 21, 1965 ) is a former Finnish ski orienteer . Mäkipää took part in five world championships in the 1990s and won a gold medal, five silver medals and one bronze in 1992 together with Eero Haapasalmi , Stefan Borgman and Anssi Juutilainen .

At the 1992 World Championships in Pontarlier , France, Mäkipää had to admit defeat to Norwegian Vidar Benjaminsen on the short and long distances . In 1996 he was fourth in both individual competitions. In 1995 and 1997 he won the overall World Cup twice in a row.

Mäkipää started for the clubs Mynämänen Suunnistajat -52 and IF Sibbo-Vargarna .
