The VfB Nuremberg was a sports club from Nuremberg . The first soccer team played for four years in the then first-class Eastern District League.

history

The club was created in 1911 through the merger of FC Noris Nürnberg with FC Franken Nürnberg and FC Vorwärts Nürnberg . The most successful parent club was FC Noris Nürnberg, which emerged from the football department of MTV Nürnberg and had played in the Eastern District League for several years. In the very first season after the merger, VfB was relegated and immediately re-promoted. In 1913, FC Concordia Nürnberg, founded in 1904, also joined the club. Until 1920, the Nuremberg held in the top division, before they disappeared in the lower divisions. In 1962, VfB Nürnberg merged with FC Langwasser to form VfL Nürnberg .
