VfL Eintracht Hannover

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The VfL Eintracht Hannover from 1848 eV is a sports club in Hanover , which was created in 2013 through the merger of the two sports clubs Eintracht Hannover from the Hanoverian district Südstadt and VfL Hannover from the district Nordstadt.

Traditionally, SV Eintracht Hannover was primarily a football club, while VfL Hannover was primarily a gymnastics club. Both clubs, however, had expanded to include numerous sports, which also included the main branch of the other club.

The club's own sports facilities as well as the office and club house are those of the former Eintracht Hannover on their former club grounds between Hildesheimer Strasse and Hoppenstedtstrasse in the southern part of Hanover. The club facilities of VfL Hannover in the street Am Moritzwinkel in Nordstadt were given up during the merger. The football and tennis division of VfL Hannover refused to accept the merger and joined other clubs.

The founding date given in the new name is that of VfL Hannover. The new association currently (2015) has approx. 3300 active members in 29 branches and is therefore the second largest in the city in terms of the number of active members after the TK Hannover .

The VfL Eintracht soccer team was promoted to the district league in 2019.

The VfL Eintracht women's team plays in the Hanover regional league.
