The VfL Erp (officially: Association for physical exercises Erp 1927/32 eV ) is a sports club from Erftstadt district Erp in the Rhein-Erft district . The first soccer team took part in the DFB Cup once.

history

The club was founded in 1927 as the Erp Ball Sports Club and later renamed VfL Erp. The team played for decades only at the local level and then in 1963 became district champion and promoted to the district class. In 1977, the team was promoted to the Mittelrhein regional league , where Erper just barely missed promotion to the Mittelrhein association league as eighth in the 1977/78 promotion season. In that season, in the course of the introduction of the Oberliga Nordrhein, sixth place would have been enough for promotion. After relegation in the meantime, VfL Erp returned to the national league in 1984. A year later, the team qualified for the DFB-Pokal, where they were defeated by SSV Ulm 1846 just 1: 2 in the first round . In 1987 he was relegated from the regional league, followed four years later by relegation from the district league. In 2007 VfL Erp rose to the district league B and in 2016 to the district league C. In 2018 he was relegated to the district league D.
