Via Garibaldi (Prato)
The Via Garibaldi is an important street in the old town of Prato . The approximately 300 meter long cobblestone street connects the Piazza del Duomo on the southwest wall of the cathedral with the Piazza Mercatale in a north-west / south-east direction and was a trade route even before the city became a city. As a pedestrian zone, it is closed to car traffic and slopes down from the Domplatz. In its continuation is the Ponte al Mercatale over the Bisenzio .
On both sides of the street there are numerous medieval buildings, some of which are listed, the oldest from the 12th century. Some of these structures have undergone major changes, especially between the 16th and 19th centuries. At the level of Via Pugliesi , which branches off to the south , a stone tablet recalls the Porta Tezi ; until the 14th century was one of eight culverts in the city wall crossing here.

- Palazzetto dei Mazzei , residence and official residence of lawyer Lapo Mazzei (1350–1412)
- Houses 15-19 from 1509 with various inscriptions on the facade
- Corner house facing Via dei Cimatori with clear fragments of masonry from the 13th century
- Palazzo Leonetti , now Teatro Politeama , no.33
- Oratorio della Madonna del Buon Consiglio , prayer room with the tallest bell towers in the city when it was built in the 13th century, No. 52
- Houses 63–69: Palazzo Buonamici Nencini with frescoes by Giovanni Domenico Ferretti from the first half of the 18th century
- Houses 77–79: On the remains of the old city gate, a building from the 19th century with a memorial plaque on the house wall
