Viaplay

Viaplay is a Nordic streaming platform from Nordic Entertainment Group , a spin-off of the Modern Times Group . Viaplay is available in Sweden , Norway , Denmark , Finland and Iceland each with local versions.

history

The streaming service was launched in March 2007 under the name Viasat OnDemand with sports and film offers in Sweden, Norway and Denmark. In March 2011 the service was renamed Viaplay and restructured.

From late July 2016 to mid-September 2018 there were local versions in Estonia , Latvia, and Lithuania . With the sale of the Baltic media division of the Nordic Entertainment Group in October 2017, Viaplay's Baltic versions have been operated by the newly founded Latvian company All Media Baltics since then . In September 2018, the Baltic Viaplay was renamed TVPlay Premium . At the beginning of December 2019 there was another renaming to Go3 .

The Finnish version of Viaplay started at the end of October 2018. The streaming platform has also been available in Iceland since the beginning of April 2020 .

In addition to national and international films and series, the streaming platform also includes sports and children's content via video-on-demand at fixed monthly prices. Since September 2016, self-produced content has been marketed under Viaplay Original . The first in-house production is the Swedish drama series Swedish Dicks .

Device support

The streaming service can be used via the Windows , macOS , iOS , Android , Chromecast and Apple TV operating systems and software , via the PlayStation 3 , PlayStation 4 , Xbox 360 and Xbox One game consoles and via Smart TV .
