history
In March 2018, Stockholm-based entertainment company Modern Times Group (MTG) initiated a process of splitting into two companies by spinning off what was then Nordic Entertainment and MTG Studios and Splay Networks into a new company. This was initiated after Danish telecom operator TDC A / S , which had proposed buying these assets a month earlier, was itself acquired by Australian private equity investor Macquarie Group . Anders Jensen, Executive Vice President and CEO of MTG at Nordic Entertainment, has been named President and CEO of the NENT Group.
The NENT Group has been operating as an independent company since July 1, 2018. Nordic Entertainment Group shares have been traded on Nasdaq Nordic since March 28, 2019 .
The NENT Group participated in Erik Feig's Picturestart studio and gave a first glimpse into the Nordic rights to its content when Picturestart was launched in May 2019.
