Vibrophores

Vibrophores are a special type of high frequency pulsators . These electro-magnetic resonance testing machines can be used both as dynamic and full-fledged static materials testing machines.

The functionality of the Vibrophores is based on the principle of a mechanical resonator with an electromagnetic drive. This means that test frequencies of up to 285 Hz are possible with sufficiently stiff samples.

Both drives, that of the dynamic and that of the static part, are regulated and controlled separately from each other, which means that any voltage ratios (r ratios) are possible. Tests can be carried out with force, displacement and strain control.

Thanks to the test in the resonance range, the high-frequency pulsator can also detect emerging and growing cracks in the sample at an early stage thanks to a minimally changing test frequency. The signal form of the dynamic load applied always corresponds to a sine curve .

Typical application examples are investigations of fracture mechanics on CT and SEB samples, material fatigue tests and life tests on standard samples and components (e.g. connecting rods, crankshafts and screws) and production and quality control of components that are exposed to vibrating loads during their service life, such as Concrete and reinforcement steels.

Due to the design, Vibrophores can also be used as universal testing machines for quasi-static tensile and compression tests.
