Victor Escousse
Victor Laserre , pseudonym Victor Escousse (* 1813 in Paris ; † February 24, 1832 ) was a French poet and playwright .
He appeared at the age of 18 with the play Farruck le Maure (1831), which was very well received. In contrast, his tragedy Pierre III (1831) fell through. A year later he brought his play Raymond , written in association with his friend Auguste Lebras (1811-1832), on stage. When this was rejected by the public, both poets killed each other six days later (February 24, 1832) by means of coal vapor. Béranger dedicated some beautiful stamps to Escouse's memory: Le Suicide .
