Victoria Atkins (born March 22, 1976 in London ) is a British politician and member of the British House of Commons . It belongs to the Conservative Party and represents the House of Commons since the British general election, in 2015 the electoral district Louth and Horncastle the county of Lincolnshire .

biography

Atkins was born the daughter of the politician Robert Atkins . Studied law at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge . In 1998 she was admitted to the bar.

In 2012 she appeared unsuccessful in the election for Police and Crime Commissioner in Gloucestershire on.

Atkins has been a MEP for Louth and Horncastle since 2015 . Former UK Prime Minister John Major is said to have recommended her candidacy. In her first election she received 51.2% of the vote. In 2017 she was able to improve her result to 63.9%. In the course of the EU membership referendum in the UK in 2016 , she refused to allow the UK to leave the EU , but has since voted with her party.

Atkins is married to Paul Kenward and has one son.
