Victoria Park (Toronto Subway)
Victoria Park is an above-ground subway station in Toronto . It is on the Bloor-Danforth Line of the Toronto Subway , on Victoria Park Avenue, and one block north of Danforth Avenue . The station, which has side platforms, is used by an average of 28,610 passengers every day (2015).
There are transfer options to four bus routes, and there is also a park-and-ride with 180 paid parking spaces for commuters . The station opened on May 11, 1968, along with the Woodbine - Warden section . The route leaves the tunnel just before Victoria Park; A bridge follows over the street and in the station area, then the route runs at ground level and turns in a north-easterly direction.
The station was extensively renovated as part of a modernization program. Work began in autumn 2008 and lasted three years. Accessibility was guaranteed by the installation of elevators , and the facility was designed artistically. The bus terminal on the station roof was demolished and replaced in May 2010 with a ground-level system; the new roof is green .
