Victoria Stilwell
Victoria Stilwell (born July 20, 1969 in Wimbledon , England ) is a British dog trainer and author . She became known through the television series "The dog or me!"
Life
Stilwell studied acting. Due to the low income as an actress, she worked as a medical assistant in a veterinary clinic. She mainly specialized in dogs and their behavior. In 1999 she moved to the United States with her husband . There she founded several dog schools .
Stilwell categorically rejects dominant training of dogs, such as alpha litter. She focuses on raising dogs through a sense of achievement. In 2010 she founded Positively Dog Training , a global network that uses words rather than deeds to educate dogs. She is currently certified by Animal Behavior and Training Associates and is a longtime member of APDT.
She writes columns in newspapers and magazines about animal welfare, especially dog protection, and is committed to dog rescue. Since 2005 she has been teaching people the right behavior towards their dogs in her TV program "Der Hund oder Ich!"
