Victoria Stilwell (born July 20, 1969 in Wimbledon , England ) is a British dog trainer and author . She became known through the television series "The dog or me!"

Life

Stilwell studied acting. Due to the low income as an actress, she worked as a medical assistant in a veterinary clinic. She mainly specialized in dogs and their behavior. In 1999 she moved to the United States with her husband . There she founded several dog schools .

Stilwell categorically rejects dominant training of dogs, such as alpha litter. She focuses on raising dogs through a sense of achievement. In 2010 she founded Positively Dog Training , a global network that uses words rather than deeds to educate dogs. She is currently certified by Animal Behavior and Training Associates and is a longtime member of APDT.

She writes columns in newspapers and magazines about animal welfare, especially dog ​​protection, and is committed to dog rescue. Since 2005 she has been teaching people the right behavior towards their dogs in her TV program "Der Hund oder Ich!"
