Five ships of the Royal Navy were or are called HMS Victorious .

  • The first HMS Victorious , launched in 1785 at Blackwall, London, was a third-rate ship of the line , armed with 74 cannons.
  • The second HMS Victorious , launched in 1808 in Portsmouth, was another "third-rate" line ship with 74 guns.
  • The third HMS Victorious , launched in 1895, was a Majestic- class battleship . She had a comparatively inconspicuous career and spent the First World War as a shipyard and repair ship, broken up in 1923.
  • The fourth HMS Victorious , launched in 1939, was an Illustrious- class aircraft carrier , fought in many battles during World War II, scrapped in 1969.
  • The fifth and current HMS Victorious , launched in 1993, is a nuclear submarine, second Vanguard- class ship , carrying Trident ICBMs.
