Victory (church)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Victory Christian Fellowship of the Philippines, Inc. is an evangelical Protestant church based in the Philippines . She is a member of the large organization Every Nation Churches with churches and congregations in over eighty countries.

history

The church organization was founded by Steve and Deborah Murrell, who came to the Philippines in 1984 with Rice Broocks and 65 other American university students on a month-long summer mission. Victory has grown significantly since 1984, and there are currently churches in 60 Filipino cities. The head office is in Bonifatio Global City .

During a difficult time when Victory Manila was struggling to survive, Epsuele Cannistraci ("Apostle C"), the founding pastor of Gateway City Church in San Jose , Calif. , Took Steve Murrell and other church leaders under his protection. He treated them as if they were part of his own administrative staff and his family. They were mentored and served the Church and its leaders during the annual service meetings of Apostle C and his wife Shirley ("Sister C") at Victory Manila . This phase began in the 1980s and lasted for over a decade. Steve Murrell wrote that Apostle C used his example to teach how to "serve with integrity, how to live with joy, and how to lead families without remorse."

In 2015, Victory's Metro Manila Church had 15 parishes, each with multiple regular services, and many offered services in more than one language (English). The church holds 94 services at its locations every weekend, some of which are broadcast live. Filipinos are trained to do missionary work in individual Filipino cities as well as nationally and worldwide. Over 10,000 executives conduct small weekly discipleship groups.

In 2020 the church had 65,000 members.
