Vicus Nörvenich

The Roman settlement Vicus Nörvenich is located near Nörvenich in the Düren district , North Rhine-Westphalia .

The former settlement from Roman times is located south of the approach to the Nörvenich air base between the federal highway 477 and the Neffelbach . The extent of this settlement is clearly visible on the surface through a scattering of bricks, roof tiles, mortar residues and pottery shards . The settlement period of this place is proven by numerous finds. The coins on this site date from the 1st century BC. BC to the 5th century AD. The pottery that was found indicates a shorter period. It dates from the second half of the 1st century AD to the 4th century AD.
