De Video Kids was a disco / pop duo from the Netherlands who had an international hit in 1985 with Woodpeckers from Space .

Band history

The band was formed in the mid-1980s as one of the many follow-up projects to the 1979 band Catapult . The singer of the band was the DJ Peter Slaghuis . The second member was Bianca Bonelli, who had previously been successful in the band Sam & Joan Company and with the solo hit Je veux l'amour - Follow Me . The band's producers were Adams / Fleisner, who also worked with Digital Emotion ("Go GO Yellow Screen") and similar projects.

With the debut single Woodpeckers from Space from 1984, the band had a great international success. In Germany and Switzerland the song was a top ten hit and in Norway the song even reached number 1 .

Further singles and two albums were then unsuccessful, so that the Video Kids are a one-hit wonder .
