The Vienna Monarchs were founded on May 28, 2003 as the first lacrosse club in Vienna . On July 1, 2006 the women's team, the Vienna Lady Monarchs, and on October 1, 2007 the U16 team, the Junior Monarchs, were launched.
With the active help of the Vienna Monarchs, the DLC ( Danube Lacrosse Championship ) was founded in 2004 and the ÖLL ( Austrian Lacrosse League ) was founded in 2006, and they are also actively involved.
Tournaments
The Vienna Monarchs have hosted the Austrian Lacrosse Open (ALO for short) every year since 2004. In addition, the men and women take part in European tournaments such as the Isar Box Tournament in Munich , Berlin Open, Passau Open, Pilsen Open, Aleš Hrebeský Memorial Radotin and others.
