Virmond-Bladenhorst

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Virmond-Bladenhorst refers to the Westphalian line of the noble family von Virmond (often also Viermundt, Viermund or Virmont), who had their seat in the Bladenhorst domain . The noble family von Virmond originally came from Viermünden in Hesse. The Hessian line of the Virmond family can be found in the Nordenbeck dominion and a Lower Rhine line in the Neersen dominion (see Virmond-Neersen ).

The line was founded by Philipp von Virmond zu Nordenbeck, who gained rule in 1496 through marriage to Beatrix von Düngelen († 1514). His descendants ruled in Bladenhorst until the male line died out in 1624, due to the childless death of Philip's great-grandson Hermann.
