Considerations for a Danube bridge on the west side have been made for decades. In 1983 the location of the Danube crossing was determined, but the project failed due to popular resistance. The preparatory measures began in 2015. Construction began in January 2019. The bridge is being designed as a suspension bridge and is to be located between the height of Kalvarienberg and Urfahrwänd. The span of the bridge should be 305.55 meters, the length of the main side 500 meters. The bridge deck will be 22.45 meters wide. The main suspension ropes will be bundles consisting of twelve individual spiral ropes with a diameter of 145 millimeters. The hanging ropes should consist of spiral ropes with a diameter of 95 millimeters. When it is completed in December 2023, the bridge will have one lane in each direction. With the opening of the 2nd section of the A26 in 2028, the bridge is to be expanded to 2 lanes in each direction.

Feeder

Due to the difficult topography, the two bridge ramps must be designed as tunnels and connect to the B127 Rohrbacher Straße and the B129 Eferdinger Straße .
