The Rohrbacher Straße next to the Danube and Mühlkreisbahn between Linz and Puchenau

The Rohrbacherstraße (B 127) is a country road in Austria . It has a length of 51 km and leads from the Upper Austrian capital Linz through the Mühlviertel to Aigen im Mühlkreis in the far north-west of the state.

The Rohrbacher Strasse runs along the Danube for the first few kilometers before turning to the northwest - following the Mühlkreisbahn . From Rottenegg it runs over the Saurüssel right next to the railway line. At Altenfelden it changes direction again and now leads north to its end. First it leads past the eponymous town of Rohrbach in Upper Austria , before it ends at the foot of the Bohemian Forest - near the state border to the Czech Republic .

history

The Krumlov road after the Bohemian town - Cesky Krumlov is named - one of the former imperial roads that were taken in 1921 as federal highways. Until 1938 the Krumauer Straße was designated as B 50, after the connection of Austria the Krumauer Straße was led as part of the Reichsstraße 341 until 1945 . After 1945 the cross-border road connection was interrupted.

The Rohrbacher Straße in Aigen has ended on September 1, 1971 , because after the construction of the Lipno reservoir, a continuous road connection to Bohemia is no longer possible.

Others

To relieve traffic, the bus lane on the road in Puchenau in the direction of Linz was also released for cars with three or more passengers . This would save around 270,000 euros in economic terms from 60,000 man-hours of driving time and a reduction in CO 2 emissions .

B127  Like the other former federal highways, Rohrbacher Strasse was part of the federal administration. Since April 1, 2002, it has been under state administration and continues to have the B in the number, but not the name Bundesstraße.
