The Görtschitztal Straße (B 92) is a state road in Austria . It has a length of 62.5 km and leads from Klagenfurt to the western edge of the Seetal Alps . The road initially runs along the Gurk to Brückl , then along the eponymous Görtschitz to Hüttenberg . Here the road runs parallel to the Görtschitztalbahn . From there, on the field of hearing and mills the Friesacher Straße (B317) connected.

history

The Görtschitztal street is loud Antonine Itinerary and Peutinger part of the old Roman road of Virunum about Hüttenberg and the Perchau Saddle to the Murtal to Iuvavum that an even older Keltenweg followed. The Hüttenberg located on it was already an important ore mining area at this time, so that along the road there are traces of ancient ore mines as well as various listed ironworks .

The Görtschitztal Straße belonged to the network of federal highways in Austria since January 1st, 1950 . It was created from the connection of two former state roads:

  • The Freudenberger road that led from Klagenfurt via Freudenberg to Brückl, in 1866 listed as one of 58 Carinthian district roads and belongs to the network of the Carinthian roads since 1 January 1872nd
  • The Ebersteiner and Hüttenberger Straße , which led from Brückl via Eberstein and Hüttenberg to the Styrian border, was listed in 1866 as one of 58 Carinthian district streets. From 1872–1949 it was part of the network of Carinthian state roads and was called Görtschitzthaler Strasse .

The Görtschitztal Straße was like the other former federal highways in the federal administration. It has been under state administration since April 1, 2002 and continues to have the B in the number, but not the name of the federal road.
