Type trail

The Kelten-Erlebnisweg (also Keltenerlebnisweg ) is a long-distance hiking trail in Thuringia and Bavaria . It is 254 kilometers long and leads past numerous museums and archaeological monuments that remind of the time of the Celts . It runs primarily through deciduous forest and can also be ridden by mountain bike. There are also numerous archaeological testimonies, museums and scenic nature experiences to discover. Seven mountains with different views give the route a varied course.

Route

The Celtic Adventure Path extends from southern Thuringia over the Haßberge , the Steigerwald to the Aischgrund. The route goes from Meiningen over the Dolmar to Rohr , on via Jüchsen , the Gleichberge and Milz to Bad Königshofen , along the Haßberge past Königsberg in Bavaria to Zeil am Main and Sand am Main , on through the Steigerwald with the towns of Ebrach and Castell to Bad Windsheim . On the Celtic Adventure Trail, hikers can enjoy the cultural diversity of the romantic villages, market towns and impressive cities with their own history.

The marking of the Celtic Adventure Path represents the stylized side view of a garment clasp, a so-called Celtic "bird's head fibula". These clasps were cast from bronze. A typical specimen was found in the area of ​​the Kleiner Knetzberg near Knetzgau in the Haßberge district. It dates from around 450 BC.
