Horst Rudolf Ubelacker

Horst Rudolf Übelacker (born March 26, 1936 in Karlsbad , Czechoslovakia ) is a German lawyer and publicist .

Life

1945 after the end of the Second World War , Übelacker and his parents were expelled from Czechoslovakia on the basis of the Beneš decrees . He first came to Central Germany , from 1946 he grew up in Lower Saxony . After a bank apprenticeship and the Abitur on the second educational path at the Braunschweig-Kolleg in Braunschweig , Übelacker began studying law and economics in Göttingen , which he continued in Würzburg from 1963 and which he completed as a fully qualified lawyer and business graduate.

Übelacker was director of the Deutsche Bundesbank and a member of the CSU . As such, in 1989 he campaigned for a coalition with the party The Republicans and in 1990 became its member and district chairman in Garching .

Since his retirement he has lived in Linz , from where he is rebuilding the Witikobund Austria working group. He is a member of the Federal Assembly and the Federal Executive of the Sudeten German Landsmannschaft . He has also been President of the German-Ukrainian Society since 1989 (member since 1969). From 1996 to 2006 he was federal chairman of the Witikobund . Since 2001, Übelacker has been visiting professor for economic issues at the Ukrainian Free University in Munich .

In several writings Übelacker turned the Sudeten question and invited as 1996 in Junge Freiheit as part of a "peace-keeping control of the German-Czech relations" after the expulsion of Germans from Czechoslovakia , among others, the "return of the Sudeten German property" as well as " Negotiations on the granting of collective Sudeten German / German self-determination including the right to the homeland ”. In a book Weg mit den Benesch-Dekreten published by Grabert Verlag in 2002 , he also made the unsuccessful demand not to agree to the Czech Republic's accession to the European Union until the Beneš decrees had been repealed.

In addition, he published articles in the magazine Eckartbote , in the Aula and in Zur Zeit as well as in Hohenrain-Verlag and gave a lecture at the fraternity Danubia Munich , the German Student Union, the Working Group for German Politics (AfdP), the Bogenhausen Talks, the party of Displaced persons and disenfranchised (PHE), the German Cultural Association of European Spirit , the “ School Association for the Promotion of Russian Germans in East Prussia eV ” founded by Dietmar Munier , the Association “Culture and Contemporary History” by Waldemar Schütz, at the 4th Culture Days of the German Cultural Association Austria and several other organizations.

In 1970 the GDR directors Walter Heynowski and Gerhard Scheumann portrayed Übelacker in their documentary The Man Without a Past .
