The Badenerstraße B 210 is a former federal highway in Lower Austria in the district of Baden . It runs over a length of 32.0 km from Alland to Ebreichsdorf .

Notable towns along the road are Mayerling , Sattelbach , Baden and Oberwaltersdorf . The B 210 connects Mödlinger Straße B 11 near Alland with Leitha Straße B 60 in Ebreichsdorf.

history

The road between Baden and Heiligenkreuz was completed in 1828. To finance the road construction, a road toll of 1½ Kreuzer per draft animal was levied.

The road between Baden and Oberwaltersdorf was completed in 1857. It enabled the Baden market to be supplied with food from today's Burgenland .

With the entry into force of the Lower Austrian Road Act of July 12, 1956, the former district roads were converted into state roads and today's Badener Strasse is designated as L 155 . The Badenerstraße belonged since 1 April 1959, the network of federal roads in Austria .

According to the Federal Roads Act of 1971, Badener Strasse was to be replaced by Badener Schnellstrasse S 5. However, this expressway was not built, so on April 1, 1983 the federal highway B 210 was set up again.

A bypass is planned at the end of the road in Alland, which will lead directly to the A21. However, there is strong resistance from groups who fear an increase in traffic. A binding referendum was carried out for the residents of Alland themselves in January 2016. It resulted in a majority for the construction of the 700 meter long stretch of road directly to the Mayerling exit.

B210  Like the other former federal highways, Badener Strasse was part of the federal administration. Since April 1, 2002, it has been under state administration and continues to have the B in the number, but not the name Bundesstraße.
