The road leads along the Ybbs from Amstetten to Waidhofen an der Ybbs . From here it follows the Austrian Eisenstrasse to Weyer. It runs through the northern foothills of the Ybbstal Alps . Weyerer Straße always follows the course of the Amstetten-Kastenreith branch line of the Rudolfsbahn .

history

The Waidhofner Commercialstrasse was completed in 1827 and had three toll stations in Greinsfurth, Kematen and Waidhofen, which should bring in around 3,650 guilders for the state treasury.

The road from Aschbach to Kematen and Waidhofen to the Upper Austrian border towards Weyer is one of the 17 roads that were declared Lower Austrian state roads in 1866. On the Upper Austrian side, Weyr-Waidhofner Strasse was also one of the state roads.

Since 1932 the Weyer-Waidhofener Bezirksstrasse in Upper Austria has been called Gaflenzer Strasse .

After the annexation of Austria , the Upper Austrian road network was reorganized according to the German model. The road between Kasten and Waidhofen was declared a 1st order state road on April 1, 1940 and designated LIO 23. On March 23, 1942, she was by order of the Inspector General for the German Road Administration to Reichsstraße explained and as a national route 407 , respectively.

The Amstetten-Weyr road (spelling of 1948) is one since April 1, 1948 to the network of federal roads in Austria .

Others

Streets with supra-local significance in the various places have municipal street names according to sub-destinations or local toponyms .

The B121 is called in Amstetten Weyerer Straße, in Weyer - at the southern end of the B121 - Steyrer Straße and then Waidhofner Straße and in Waidhofen in parts Wienerstraße and Mühlstraße. Streets in Kematen an der Ybbs are numbered throughout: The B121 is called "1. Straße" and in the district of Heide "Heide 1. Straße", to the west of 121 are the streets with odd names, to the east those with even numbers. The numbering runs like the geographical latitude and the direction of flow of the Ybbs from south to north, in Kematen maximally up to "35th Street", in the north the district of Heide connects with a numbering of the streets up to Heide 16. Straße.
