Aschbach-Markt is located in the Mostviertel in Lower Austria about ten kilometers from the district capital, Amstetten . The Url runs through the municipality .

  • Aschbach-Dorf (423) including Göstling , Gunnersdorf , Lahen and Riesing
  • Aschbach-Markt (1721) including the Moderhackermühle and Neubrunnmühle
  • Krenstetten (459) including Besendorf, Graßlau and Hötzing
  • Mitterhausleiten (671) including Aukental, Dorf, Hackenöd, Hinterholz, Holz, Hundsheim, Lemberg, Lieglhof, Neufeld , Oberhausleiten, Schörghub, and Windfeld
  • Oberaschbach (293) including Edla, Feitzing, Fimbach , Fohra, Gerersdorf, Gobetzberg, Langholz, Linden, Samesbruck and Schmiedleiten

The community consists of the cadastral communities Abetzberg, Aschbach Dorf, Aschbach Markt, Krenstetten, Mitterhausleiten and Oberaschbach.

history

In ancient times, the area was part of the Noricum province .

For the first time Aschbach was mentioned as asbahe in the document Confirmatio Ludovici Pii , dated in 823 . Aschbach is the original parish and the oldest market town in the district of Amstetten, which at the time of Duke Leopold VI. experienced its heyday.

Krenstetten has been a place of pilgrimage since 1500.

Until 2014 there was a police station of the Austrian police in Aschbach-Markt .

  • Catholic pilgrimage church Krenstetten Assumption of Mary: Every year on the 13th from May to October the Fatima celebration takes place in the pilgrimage church Maria am Anger in Krenstetten.
  • As in many rural communities, cultural life in Aschbach is based on the commitment of individuals.
