history

The foundation of the settlement Haidershofen is based on a systematic application of a fortress line by Bavarian high nobility named Haderich (Haderico, Hadericus, Hadrer) shortly before 1000 n. Chr., From which the place name Haidershofen derives proven. These struggles were "knightly fighters and trained strategists" of the emperor and the margraves. The name Haderich stands for defender or defense (from "quarrel", thus wrestling, fighting). Haidershofen still has the fortress of the Haderiche on the Enns and the resounding name Vestenthal (fortress valley ) in close proximity.

The organized volunteer fire brigade Haidershofen has existed since June 1, 1894. The Haidershofen savings and loan association (today Raiffeisen cooperatives in Austria ) was founded on March 1, 1902.

As of March 1, 2014, the addresses were changed and the postcode for the entire municipality was standardized to 4431.
