Hans Thisreiter (born November 10, 1909 in Haidershofen , Lower Austria; † December 7, 1978 in Mondsee ) was an Austrian politician ( NSDAP or non-party ).

Live and act

After attending the elementary school and the community school , this rider completed a three-year practical work as a forester. From 1927 to 1928 he was trained at the state forest ranger school in Ort bei Gmunden , where he passed the state examination as a forester. From 1929 to 1930 he worked at the Frohnleiten Forestry Directorate as a Forstadjunkt.

In the spring of 1929, this rider joined the NSDAP in Frohnleiten. From 1930 until the failed putsch of the Austrian NSDAP against the Dollfuss government in Vienna , he worked as a Forstadjunkt at the Glein forest administration near Knittelfeld in the Upper Mur Valley (Styria). There he founded the local groups of the NSDAP in Glein and Rachau with two forest workers. He headed the Gleiner group until the July coup in 1934.

Because of his participation in the July coup, this rider was sentenced to death by hanging by the Military Court Senate VII Leoben, but was later pardoned to a twelve-year long imprisonment. After serving two years of his sentence in the men's penal institution in Graz-Karlau until July 1936, he was released on condition that he be supervised by the police. Since his release, he earned his living as a district forester at the Graf von Almeidaschen estate administration and as a sawmaker in Mondsee. At this time he also joined the SS , where he took over duties as a squad leader.

From April 1938 until the end of the Nazi regime in the spring of 1945, this reiter was a member of the National Socialist Reichstag for Austria .

From 1938, this rider worked on the staff of the SS upper section Alpenland. During the Second World War he took part in the war as a volunteer with the Waffen SS . In 1943 he reached the rank of SS-Obersturmführer.
