Oberaschbach (formerly also Ober-Aschbach ) is a village and a cadastral municipality in the market town of Aschbach-Markt , Lower Austria.
The village is located 4 kilometers north of the main town Aschbach-Markt on the L84 road and consists of several rural properties. The hamlets of Feitzing, Fimbach , Langholz, Linden and Schmiedleiten, the Rotten Edla, Fohra, Gobetzberg and Samesbruck as well as some individual layers are also located in the village and cadastral community . On January 1, 2020, the village had 293 inhabitants. A total of 6.89 km² of the cadastral community are fields, meadows and pastures and 0.72 km² are forested.
After the reforms of 1848/1849 , Oberaschbach constituted itself as an independent municipality in 1850. This was assigned to the Seitenstetten district until 1868 and then to the Amstetten district. Then as now, Oberaschbach was assigned to the Aschbach parish, the center of which is the Aschbach-Markt parish church and which is looked after by the Seitenstetten Abbey .
