The mistletoe Straße (B 40) is a country road B in Austria . It crosses the Weinviertel over a length of 76.3 km from west to east. The road takes its starting point in the district capital Hollabrunn and first leads along the Göllersbach to Ernstbrunn in the Leiser Berge nature reserve . From here she continues her way to the eponymous town of Mistelbach an der Zaya , where she meets the Zaya . In Wilfersdorf , Mistelbacher Straße finally turns to the southeast, where it ends in Dürnkrut on Bernstein Straße (B 49) near the state border with Slovakia .

history

The road from Mistelbach via Wilfersdorf and Zistersdorf to Dürnkrut is one of the 17 roads that were declared Lower Austrian state roads in 1866.

After the annexation of Austria , this road was converted into a 1st order state road on April 1, 1940 as part of the standardization of the road system and designated as LIO 37. On March 23, 1942, it was declared part of Reichsstraße 388 by a decree of the General Inspector for German Roads .

The mistletoe Straße heard since 1 January 1949 to the network of federal roads in Austria .

 B40  Like the other former federal highways, Mistelbacher Strasse was part of the federal administration. Since April 1, 2002, it has been under state administration and continues to have the B in the number, but not the name Bundesstraße.
