The Gargellen road (L 192) is a country road in Austria . It has a length of 9.5 km and leads from St. Gallenkirch through the Gargellental to the end of the valley near the village of Gargellen . The valley gave the street its name.
history
Gargellener Strasse owes its status as a former federal highway to the fact that, especially during the time of National Socialist rule in Austria and in the immediately following post-war years, a road connection with the monastery in Switzerland in the canton of Graubünden was promoted. However, this connection was never implemented despite specific planning.
Gargellener Straße has been part of the network of federal highways in Austria since September 1st, 1971 . Since 2002, Gargellener Strasse has been one of the state roads under state administration and ownership. In contrast to the other Austrian federal states, the names of all former federal highways in Vorarlberg have been changed to state roads .
