The Faakersee Straße (B 84) is a state road in Austria . It has a length of 13.4 km and leads from Villach past the Faaker See into the Rosental .

history

The Faakersee Straße has been part of the network of federal highways in Austria since October 1st, 1972 . It emerged from the connection of three former state roads:

  • The 19.6 km long Faakersee Straße was known as Kärntner Landesstraße 52 until 1972  and led from Villach via Egg , St. Niklas and Rosegg to Velden . Since 1972 the 12.3 km long Rosegger Straße has only started in Egg on the Faakersee Bundesstraße.
  • The Faakersee-Ufer Straße is still referred to as Kärntner Landesstraße  53 . It branches off from Faakersee Strasse in Drobollach and runs along the western and southern shores of the lake until it joins Faakersee Strasse again at Egg. 1.7 km of the Faakersee-Ufer road were declared part of the federal road in 1972, since then the state road is only 6.6 km long.
  • The 4.1 km long Ledenitzer Straße was known as Kärntner Landesstraße 54 until 1972  and led from Rosental Straße via Ledenitzen to Neu-Egg on the shores of Lake Faak. It was completely replaced by the federal highway in 1972.

According to the Federal Road Transmission Act of March 29, 2002, it has been under state administration again since April 1, 2002.

 B84  Like the other former federal highways, Faakersee Straße was part of the federal administration. Since April 1, 2002, it has been under state administration and continues to have the B in the number, but not the name Bundesstraße.
