The Laxenburger Straße B230 is a main road B in Vienna , national road B in Lower Austria and former federal highway . Most of it runs within Vienna, but the last part is already in Lower Austria. Laxenburger Straße, along with Triester Straße ( B17 ) and Favoritenstraße ( B16 ), is one of the most important southern entrances to Vienna.

course

The B230 begins at Südtiroler Platz at the intersection with the Wiener Gürtel (B221) and follows the entire course of the Laxenburger Straße towards the south. It crosses initially the district Part favorites of the same 10th district of Vienna favorites (see also new estate ) and crosses the Wienerbergstraße (B225). After crossing the am Wienerberg and the overpass of the Südosttangente (A23) and Donauländebahn , it reaches the 23rd Viennese district of Liesing . The Laxenburger Straße then crosses the Liesingbach and crosses the Inzersdorf industrial area . Shortly after the Vienna / Lower Austria border, the B230 ends in Vösendorf at the “Laxenburger Straße” junction of the Vienna outer ring expressway (S1).

history

Laxenburger Strasse was first mentioned in a document in 1377. It was created as a connection between Neue Favorita Castle, today's Theresianum , and Laxenburg Castle . In 1686 its course was changed. In the 19th century it represented a main axis of the settlement development in the south of Vienna, whereby only building facades of the originally historical building in its northern part are preserved today. From 1946 to 1956 it was called Tolbuchin Street after the Soviet general Fyodor Ivanovich Tolbuchin.

B230  Like the other former federal highways, Laxenburger Strasse was part of the federal administration. Since April 1, 2002, it has been under state administration and continues to have the B in the number, but not the name Bundesstraße.
