The bottle Straße B 61 is a main road in Austria .
history
An extension of the Burgenland expressway S 31 from Oberpullendorf-Süd to Günser Straße near Unterpullendorf and subsequently to the Hungarian border near Rattersdorf was originally planned. In November 2010 it became known that this project would not be implemented as an expressway, but as a state road with the financial contribution of the federal government.
The groundbreaking for the new building was on September 22, 2014 at the roundabout (B 50 / end of S 31) between Oberpullendorf and Steinberg-Dörfl . The route runs as Pullendorfer Straße B 61a in ten kilometers initially to Günser Straße B 61 between Mannersdorf and Rattersdorf, as the last kilometer to the Hungarian border could only be planned when the location of the border crossing was determined. The road was opened to traffic on July 17, 2017. The € 37 million route was financed by the federal government, which saves € 40 million by building the two-lane state road instead of a four-lane expressway.
The construction of the B61a from today's roundabout with the B61 near Rattersdorf towards Hungary has been under construction since May 2018, after an application for a strategic environmental assessment (SUP) was submitted at the beginning of 2017. The B61a is to merge with the Hungarian M 87 after the Hungarian border and before Kőszeg . The traffic opening should take place in December 2019. [outdated]
