The Unterkirchbacherstraße (B 73) is a country road in Austria . It has a length of 44.4 km and leads from Graz through the Eastern Styrian hill country to Kirchbach in Styria and then back to the Mur near Leibnitz .

history

The road from Graz via Hausmannstätten, Hühnerberg and Prosdorf to Kirchbach was upgraded to 1st class district road by a resolution of the Styrian state parliament on April 14, 1877. Since April 1, 1938, the district roads of the 1st order in Styria have been run as state roads.

The Unterkirchbacherstraße heard since 1 January 1973 to the network of federal roads in Austria .

expansion

The Hausmannstätten bypass was planned from 1979/80 , but construction work on the 2,320 m long project could not begin until the beginning of 2010. The heart of the lot is the 1045 m long Himmelreich tunnel. The bypass was opened on July 2, 2012, and the total cost was 65 million euros.

 B73  Like the other former federal highways, Kirchbacher Strasse was part of the federal administration. Since April 1, 2002, it has been under state administration and continues to have the B in the number, but not the name Bundesstraße.
