The Leonfeldener road (B 126) is a country road in Austria . It leads over a length of 34 km from the Upper Austrian capital Linz through the Mühlviertel up to the Hohenfurther Saddle to the state border with the Czech Republic . The street is named after the city of Bad Leonfelden , the only larger municipality that lies on it.
history
Leonfeldener Strasse was one of six state roads in Upper Austria. From November 1, 1864 to October 31, 1909, a toll was levied on this road .
The Leonfeldener Straße between Linz and the state border at Weigetschlag was declared a federal highway by ordinance of the federal government of June 9, 1933. Until 1938 the Leonfeldener Straße was designated as the B 51, after the connection of Austria the Leonfeldener Straße was not listed as a Reichsstraße . As part of the standardization of the road system, it was converted into a 1st order country road on April 1, 1940 and designated as LIO 24.
Since April 1, 1948, Leonfeldener Strasse has again been part of the network of federal roads in Austria .
