The Lustenauer road ( L 204 ) is a country road in Austria . It has a length of 6.8 km and leads from Dornbirn via Lustenau to the Rhine bridge on the border between Austria and Switzerland .

From 1902 to 1938 the route of the Dornbirn-Lustenau tram ran there .

On the stretch between the Dornbirn-Süd motorway exit of the Rheintal motorway (A 14) and the national border, the road carries a large part of the transit traffic from Germany to Switzerland.

The Lustenauer street belonged from 1 September 1971 to transition to the regional road network on April 1, 2002 the network of federal roads in Austria .

In the other federal states, the conventional street name is continued with B - in Vorarlberg, however, the streets taken over by the federal government have an L in the name like all other Vorarlberg regional streets .
