The Feldbacher road B 68 is a main road in Austria . It connects the cities of Gleisdorf and Feldbach over a length of 23.1 km . The road runs continuously in the valley of the Raab and is accompanied by the Styrian Eastern Railway .

history

The road from Graz via the Schemmerl, Studenzen , Feldbach and Fehring to the Hungarian border was assigned to the first class district roads by the law of October 3, 1868. By a resolution of the Styrian Landtag on April 1, 1876, it was downgraded to a district road, 2nd class.

The Gleichenberger Straße between Gleisdorf, Feldbach and Gleichenberg was declared a federal highway by ordinance of the federal government of June 9, 1933. Until 1938 Gleichenberger Strasse was designated as B 23, after the annexation of Austria , Gleichenberger Strasse was no longer run as Reichsstrasse .

Since January 1, 1973 Gleichenberger Straße has continued from Feldbach to Ilz. The previous stretch of Gleichenberger Strasse was renamed Feldbacher Strasse .

From km 13.5 (Studenzen-Fladnitz station) an expansion along the railway line and thus away from the settlement is planned. The end is at a roundabout with the state roads L 201 Berndorferstraße, L 248 Rohrstraße and L 249 Reitherstraße near the Berndorf industrial estate (Kirchberg an der Raab municipality) . From there to the western end of the B 68a it is 3.6 km via the L 201 Berndorferstraße (see below).

The B 68a leads from the intersection with the B 68 shortly before its end to the west and then crosses under the Styrian Ostbahn and ends at km 1.94 with a roundabout. This is 3.6 km east of the planned end of the new line of the B 68 (see above).

B 68b branch Feldbacher Strasse

The branch from the B 68 after the Gniebing underground route to the L 221 Johnsdorferstrasse is known as the B 68b (length approx. 185 m).
