The western section of today's federal road, which ended at Loibler Reichsstraße , belonged to the network of Carinthian state roads as Rosenthaler Straße since January 1, 1872 .

The further section between Kirschentheuer and Wildenstein was called Freibacher Straße and since January 1st, 1872 it has also belonged to the network of Carinthian state roads.

The section east of Wildenstein was part of Grafenstein-Kappler Strasse , which also belonged to the network of Carinthian state roads.

After the annexation of Austria , these roads were converted into a 1st order state road on April 1, 1940 as part of the standardization of the road system and designated as LIO 10.
