history

Street and Mariazellerbahn before electrification at Gillus in Frankenfels, around 1907

Baron Georg Anton von Grechtler, son of the landowner Johann Georg von Grechtler , had a commercial road built in 1782, which branched off from Mariazeller Strasse and led via Fridau to Mainburg.

With the entry into force of the Lower Austrian Road Act of April 19, 1894, it was converted into a first class district road and given the road number I / XVII . After the annexation of Austria , this road was converted into a 1st order state road on April 1, 1940 as part of the standardization of the road system and designated as LIO 44.

With the entry into force of the Lower Austrian Road Act of July 12, 1956, the former district roads were converted into state roads and today's Pielachtal Strasse is designated as L 102 .

The Pielachtal Straße belonged to the network of federal highways in Austria since April 1st, 1959 .
