The Vienna northeast peripheral road B 305 is a state highway B and former federal highway in the wine district in Lower Austria . It connects Donau Straße B3 with the S1 junction Korneuburg -West and continues in the direction of the Leobendorf / Korneuburg Kaserne roundabout .

It has a length of approx. 1.5 km and was originally built to relieve the city of Korneuburg and as a feeder road from Laaer Strasse to the Donauufer Autobahn .

history

Already at the end of the 1980s, the route known at the time as B208 was planned as a connecting clasp B7 - A22 . The B208 was intended as a replacement for the A21 planned in this section until 1983 . The first implementation from the project at that time was implemented in 1998 in the form of the junction A22 / Korneuburg West and the adjoining B208, now B305, as a bypass from Korneuburg.

In connection with the then planned B302 between B8 and B7 , the planned street was upgraded in its function from a local relief clasp to a part of the north-east ring around Vienna and with the amendment to the Federal Roads Act in 1971, anchored in law as B305.

The basis for this new designation were the suggestions of the GSD study prepared by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs (BMwA) "The design of the road network in the Danube-European area with special attention to Austria as a business location" from February 1999.

In the Federal Road Transmission Act of March 29, 2002, part of the B305 and the B301 became part of the Vienna outer ring expressway S1.

After the S1 was opened to traffic on January 31, 2010, the B305 will remain in place as a link between the B3, the new S1 junction at Korneuburg-West and Leobendorfer Straße (L31).

 B305  Like the other former federal highways, Wiener Nordostrand Strasse was part of the federal administration. Since April 1, 2002, it has been under state administration and continues to have the B in the number, but not the name Bundesstraße.
