Career

After graduating from high school and a two-year pharmacy internship, Krohn did his basic military service in the Air Force . From 1965 he studied pharmacy at the University of Kiel , where he graduated with a doctorate in 1971. After a brief academic career, Krohn joined the Bundeswehr as a senior pharmacist in 1974 . He first studied food chemistry again and then served as a medical officer (pharmacist) in a laboratory. Krohn first rose to the position of head of the "Pharmacy and Food Chemistry" department with the rank of senior pharmacist in the Federal Ministry of Defense . Later he was a consultant in the inspection of the medical and health system and was involved in the establishment of a new drug information system for the German armed forces.

In 1993, Krohn was promoted to chief pharmacist and was employed as the head of the military pharmacy department in the Bundeswehr medical office. Here, Krohn was responsible for revising the Bundeswehr's medical equipment with a view to the new missions abroad. Krohn was responsible for the development of permanently used container systems as medical supply platforms. He established further training measures for medical staff officers and was meanwhile himself a specialist pharmacist for drug information, for pharmaceutical analysis and for public health.

On April 1, 2000, Krohn was promoted to general pharmacist and, incidentally, was the first air force officer to take over the post of stage manager for the military pharmacy of the Bundeswehr, which he held until his retirement in 2004.

From 1989 to 1993, Krohn was a board member of the North Rhine State Chamber of Pharmacists.
