Fladnitz murder affair

In 1950, the place became known nationwide through a series of robbery murders that always took place on Fridays, as on this day the men received their weekly wages and carried them home in cash. The murders were never fully solved. A suspected perpetrator was finally convicted in 1951, but acquitted a few years later in retrial after the two main witnesses revoked their statements.
