The Hohenfurther Saddle , also Hohenfurther Pass , Czech Vyšebrodský průsmyk , is a mountain saddle on the Austrian-Czech border between Bad Leonfelden and Vyšší Brod (German Hohenfurth ) in the village of Weigetschlag at 752 m above sea level. A. on the European watershed .

The Brockhaus lexicon names the Hohenfurther Saddle as the southeastern border of the Bohemian Forest . But see also Kerschbaumer saddle .

In the Middle Ages, an important trade route, the Salzweg ( Goldener Steig , also Linzersteig ) led from Linz via Leonfelden over the Sattel to Bohemia . Today the Leonfeldener Straße (B 126) leads over the saddle.

The southernmost border point of the Czech Republic is not far from the Hohenfurt saddle at the Schwedenschanze .
