It belongs to the Arrondissement Altkirch , the canton Dannemarie and is a member of the community association Sud Alsace Largue .

geography

The municipality of Falkwiller is located in the valley of the Largue tributary Soultzbach , about 20 kilometers southwest of Mulhouse near the Burgundian Gate .

The neighboring communities of Falkwiller are Gildwiller in the north, Balschwiller in the south-east, Buethwiller in the south, Traubach-le-Haut in the south-west, Guevenatten (point of contact) in the west and hedges in the north-west.

history

From 1871 until the end of the First World War , Falkwiller belonged to the German Empire as part of the realm of Alsace-Lorraine and was assigned to the Altkirch district in the Upper Alsace district .
