The municipality of Wittersdorf im Sundgau is located on the Thalbach , just before its confluence with the Ill . Départementsstraße 419 leads through the village from Altkirch to Basel .

Neighboring communities of Wittersdorf are Walheim in the north, Emlingen and Tagsdorf in the east, Schwoben (point of contact) in the southeast, Hirsingue in the south and Altkirch in the west.

history

From 1871 until the end of the First World War , Wittersdorf belonged to the German Empire as part of the realm of Alsace-Lorraine and was assigned to the Altkirch district in the Upper Alsace district .
