The Communauté de communes Sundgau is a French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the Haut-Rhin department in the Grand Est region . It was founded on June 15, 2016 and comprises 64 parishes. The administrative headquarters are in Altkirch .

Historical development

The community association was created with effect from January 1, 2017 through the merger of the predecessor organizations

• Communauté de communes d'Altkirch ,
• Communauté de communes du Secteur d'Illfurth ,
• Communauté de communes du Jura Alsacien ,
• Communauté de communes Ill et Gersbach and
• Community de communes de la Vallée de Hundsbach

and was initially called Communauté de communes d'Altkirch et Environs ., but was renamed to the current name shortly thereafter.
