Saint-Imier church

The first written mention of a Saint-Imier church dedicated to Saint Himerius took place in 1276. In 1632 the building was in poor condition. Nevertheless, a new nave was not built until 1789 . The old cemetery was south of the church. It contained an ossuary in 1768 , which was probably destroyed in 1789 when the new nave was built. In 1839 the choir , the sacristy and the church tower were renewed. In 1950 the building was renovated. In the church there are several paintings from the 18th and 19th centuries, as well as two statues of saints from the 15th or 16th centuries.

The rectory was built between 1764 and 1766. In 1846 building materials from the former school and from the parsonage barn were used to renovate the parsonage. The former school behind the rectory was converted into a barn in 1888. It burned down in 1908. In 1937 the rectory was restored.

The new school was built in 1846. Today it serves as a Mairie ('Mayor's Office').

The main occupations are agriculture ( agriculture and breeding of domestic cattle and domestic pigs ) and trade. Most of the employed are commuters and work away from home.
